We offer fully operational and automated ECommerce systems. An ecommerce system allows one to safely accept payments online. You can have a subscription payment system, a convenient means of collecting arbitrary payments or full shopping basket functionality linked into your updateable online product catalogue. There is no limit imposed on the amount of products that you can add to your online shop. There are two types of payment gateways: - Direct internet banking gateway
- Escrow banking gateway
Direct internet banking gateway This type of gateway allows for funds to be transferred directly into your bank account. The key points to note about this type of gateway are: - The South African bank of your choice will charge a monthly merchant fee
- Your South African bank will also charge a fee up to 5% of a purchase value.
- The bank approved gateway provider will charge a fee per transaction.
- Payments can only be accepted in South African Rands.
- The bank approved gateway provider may charge a setup fee
For the direct internet banking gateway, you will need an Internet Merchant Account with your bank BEFORE you will be able to accept credit cards. This is a seperate process which you need to undertake with your bank. This can be set up with ABSA, FNB, Standard Bank or Nedbank. Once you have a Credit Card Merchant Account we will be able to enable your site to accept VISA and MasterCard internationaly. Your shopping basket and catalogue will all work but until you have your Internet Merchant account the only payment options on your site will be "Cash On Delivery" and "Bank Deposits". Escrow banking gateway This type of gateway allows for funds to be paid into a holding account. The two major escrow payment gateways are PayPal and SETCOM. For PayPal accounts it is not possible to transfer money into a South African bank account or to accept payments in South African Rands. The SETCOM gateway does allow you to accept payments in South African Rands (or dollars or pounds). Funds can then be transferred from your holding SETCOM account into your personal / business South African bank account. The points to note about this type of account are: - No monthly fees.
- No special merchant account required with your bank.
- A transaction fee is only charged when a purchase is made.
